Keep Electronic/Electric Devices in your Home Clean – Here is Why!

As homeowners we know how important it is to keep our homes clean. There is one thing that some homeowners may overlook, and it’s cleaning devices in our home. There are important reasons why you should clean them and there are ways that you can do it properly. Here are some important devices that you should keep clean in your home and here is how you can clean them!

Light Switches

Light switches are one device that receives the most traffic and germs in our home. It is so important to regularly clean light switches to make sure that you keep your home germ free. When we come from home, when we have a guest over, when our kids are going in and out of the house, light switches are always touched over and over again. We overlook the cleaning of the light switches, but it is one place that collects the most germs in our home. To clean your light switches properly, use a paper towel and spray on an all purpose cleaner. Then wipe down your light switches thoroughly to make sure that you keep them clean and germ-free. Make sure to do this weekly to keep your home germ and virus free!

TV Remote Control

Your television remote control is another electronica device that you need to keep sanitized! The best way to sanitize it is to use Lysol disinfecting wipes that kill germs instantly. They’re easy to use and very effective. All you need to do is wipe your remote from top to bottom and gently wiping down the front of the remote and taking care in between buttons on the remote. Wipe down the back of the remote including the battery cover. Broadband genie’s recent study says viruses thrive on tech, meaning it’s super important to clean your tech devices daily or at least weekly! Another method to clean the remote, involves applying 70% rubbing alcohol onto a microfiber cloth and cleaning the same way. Wiping your remote from top to bottom, in between the keys, and also making sure to get the back cover. Make sure to use the 70% alcohol since it surprisingly disinfects better than 91%.

Home Alarm System

If you have an alarm system in your home, it is one of the first things you touch when you enter your home as you input the pin to deactivate the alarm. As soon as you come home from work, school, the shopping center, you are introducing new germs into your home and as you touch your alarm system panels key’s you are leaving new germs every time that accumulate and grow. Use Lysol wipes or 70% alcohol to wipe down your alarm system panel thoroughly to kill those germs immediately. You will be glad you did!

There are tons of other things in your home that experience a lot of high traffic, so make sure you identify those areas as they may be different depending on your household. Disinfect them, wipe them down, clean them thoroughly, and you should be on our way to a germ free home that’s safe for you and your family!
