Winter isn’t going to let up anytime soon, and that’s why you should warm yourself up with this tasty chicken tortellini soup! We just love soup, and there’s no better way to end a hectic day than with some hot soup and crusty bread. This chicken soup is simple to prepare since it uses the rotisserie chicken you can buy at any grocery store. Add in some tortellini and veggies and you’ve got yourself a soup fit for a king! It also works well for weeknight dinners, and we think it would work in a crockpot, too! Keep reading for the recipe!

If you’re like us, and you love flea markets and thrift stores, we can bet you’ve gathered up a collection of beautiful (although mismatched!) vintage plates. Don’t know what to do with them all? Upcycle them!

There’s an easy way to bring some life into thrift store vintage plates! Why not jazz them up a bit with adorable vintage bug drawings? It doesn’t just have to be insects! Try rabbits, crown jewels, or cats! You can find loads of these vintage images over at The Graphics Fairy, which is our go-to site for all of our vintage picture needs!

– Vintage plates

– Clear waterslide decals

– Clear acrylic coat

– Scissors

– A small bowl

– Warm water

– Paper towels

Step #1:

Print out your images onto the glossy side of the waterslide decal paper. Allow it to dry completely, then spray it with acrylic clear coat. Leave it to dry, then cut out your images.

Step #2:

Place the decals in a bowl of warm water. Allow it to sit for 15 seconds. When the decal separates from the liner, you can apply it to your plate.

Step #3:

Place your decal onto the plate with the liner still attached. Slide the liner from beneath the decal. Smooth out any folds or bubbles using your finger. Blot with a paper towel and leave it to dry for at least 1 hour.

Step #4:

Remember, these decals aren’t food safe. You cannot wash them or place them in the dishwasher. If you need to clean them, spot clean them only with a paper towel.

Take a look at these 9 tips to help make ironing your clothes a speedy, easy, and stress-free job!

If you find ironing too stressful, or aren’t sure if you’re doing it right, we’re here to help! We’ve got 9 tips to help you make peace with your iron, and make ironing your clothes a piece of cake!

1. Position Your Ironing Board

Proper ergonomic alignment is a laundry tip that will speed up the ironing process and you’ll avoid the dreaded backache. Adjust your ironing board until it’s at hip level. Your elbow should be bent at a 90-degree angle and your shoulder should be able to move easily.

2. Clean Your Iron

This cleaning hack will make your clothes sparkle! Before turning on your iron, check for any built-up residue. Remove any residue before you start ironing or it can transfer to your clothing.

3. Read Clothing Labels

Read your clothing care labels and match your iron’s temperatures to them. If in doubt, set your iron to a low temperature.

4. Clean Clothes Only!

Only iron clean clothes, never dirty clothes! The iron’s heat will set stains and also intensify odors on the fabric.

5. Keep it Misty

Keep a spray bottle filled with water handy. If you find yourself battling stubborn creases, spritz the crease with water and it should flatten nicely.

6. Go With the Grain

Iron your clothes with the grain, never against it. Ironing across thread diagonals will cause the fabric to stretch and buckle.

7. Get a Press Cloth

A press cloth is something everyone needs when ironing. This piece of tightly woven cotton cloth is used as a barrier between the iron and your clothes. It will guard against shine on your clothes, and help protect delicate clothing from the heat of the iron.

8. Keep the Iron Moving

Never hold the iron in one place for too long, you could burn your clothes! Keep the pressure light and don’t press too hard.

9. Hang Up Your Clothes

When you’re finished ironing your clothes, hang them up right away. In the first few hours since you’ve ironed your clothes are extra sensitive to wrinkles. Allow your clothes to cool and dry completely before placing them back into your closet or drawer.

Stacked Vegetarian Lasagna Pie

Serves 10

Ingredients

14 dried lasagna noodles

2 tbsp olive oil

1 1/2 cups finely chopped carrots (3 medium carrots)

2 cups finely chopped zucchini (1 medium zucchini)

4 cloves garlic (minced)

3 cups sliced fresh mushrooms (8 ounces)

2 6 ounce packages baby spinach

2 tbsp fresh basil (or dried)

1 egg (beaten)

1 15 ounce carton ricotta cheese

1/3 cup finely shredded Parmesan cheese

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 26 ounce jar tomato-basil pasta sauce (about 2 1/2 cups)

2 cups shredded Italian Fontina or mozzarella cheese (8 ounces)

Rosemary sprigs (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Cook your lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain noodles and rinse with cold water. Drain once more and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over medium-high heat. Add in carrots, zucchini, and half of the garlic. Cook for 5 minutes, or until veggies are crisp and tender. Transfer the veggies to a bowl and add the remaining oil to the same skillet and heat again on medium-high heat. Add in mushrooms and remaining garlic. Cook for 5 minutes or until tender. Gradually add in spinach and cook for 1-2 minutes. Transfer the mushroom mixture to a bowl. Stir in basil and set aside.

In a bowl, stir together the egg, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Set aside.

Spread 1/2 cup of the pasta sauce on the bottom of a 9×3 springform pan. Arrange 3-4 cooked noodles over the sauce to create 1 layer. Top the layer with half of the spinach-mushroom mixture. Add half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the spinach mixture. Add another layer of noodles. Spread over half of the remaining tomato sauce. Top with all of the vegetable mixture. Sprinkle half the Fontina cheese over the vegetable mixture. Add another layer of noodles. Layer the remaining spinach-mushroom mixture and remaining ricotta cheese mixture. Top with a layer of noodles and the rest of the sauce.

Place the pan on a baking sheet lined with foil. Bake for 45 minutes. When the time is up, sprinkle with the remaining Fontina cheese and bake 15 minutes more. Take the pie out and cover and allow it to sit for 15 minutes. Remove the side of the pan and cut into wedges. Garnish with rosemary sprigs (optional).
