IKEA HOLMSTA / FRÖKNABO Review – We LOVE this Rattan Arm Chair!
Today we are reviewing the IKEA HOLMSTA / FRÖKNABO rattan arm chair! It makes the perfect statement piece in any home!
I love a good arm chair! When I first laid eyes on the IKEA HOLMSTA / FRÖKNABO I knew it had to be next on my wish list! This beautiful sturdy looking arm chair is made from handwoven rattan, bamboo and wood. These natural materials and tones are all the rage in today’s decorating scene. The arm chair makes a beautiful statement piece in your living room, hallway, bedroom or even a cozy reading nook!
In terms of style the IKEA HOLMSTA / FRÖKNABO can suite a variety of decorating styles: from traditional, to rustic and even modern! It has a natural light-colored finish which can suite a ton of decorating styles and can even be dressed up with a bold throw pillow or blanket!
The IKEA holmsta armchair can be purchased with or without the cushion that comes in one color – beige. I’m not sure why it comes without the cushion as you really need the cushion to make this armchair comfortable. When it comes to the color choice, I personally would reupholster this cushion in a fabric of my choice. An outdoor striped fabric, or even a luxurious animal print or banana leaf fabric would for sure take this chair from bland to glam! The cushion is made in a very simple pattern, so anyone with some sewing skills could easily sew a new cover or get a seamstress to do so easily.
The price of the HOLMSTA armchair is generally affordable at $299 on the US site, reflecting IKEA’s commitment to providing stylish and functional furniture at a reasonable cost. If you were to compare to other sites like Wayfair where I found some very similar pieces, the price point is about the same, and the quality looks similar also.
So what is my recommendation on the IKEA IKEA HOLMSTA / FRÖKNABO armchair? I believe it’s a very stylish statement piece that has room for customization like reupholstering the cushion, and is pretty affordable. Its size makes it perfect even for smaller spaces like apartments. I would definitely recommend firstly trying it out at your local IKEA if you are thinking about putting it in your living room and using it as an every day chair!
