<p><strong>Step 4:</strong></p>
<p>Beat an egg with a fork and pour it over the chicken. Mix until everything is evenly coated.<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-1567" src="https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy5.jpg" alt="How to Make The Perfect Fried Chicken Every Time easy step by step picnic party classic breadcrumbs cornflour easy5" width="1600" height="1200" srcset="https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy5.jpg 1600w, https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy5-300x225.jpg 300w, https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy5-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy5-624x468.jpg 624w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p><strong>Step 5:</strong></p>
<p>Place breadcrumbs and crumbled cornflakes in a shallow dish. Take each piece of chicken and dip it in the breadcrumbs and cornflakes. Press firmly with your fingers and gently lay it in another container. Do this until all the chicken pieces are coated. You can keep the coated chicken in the fridge, or place them in the freezer to fry later. <img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-1568" src="https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy6.jpg" alt="How to Make The Perfect Fried Chicken Every Time easy step by step picnic party classic breadcrumbs cornflour easy6" width="1600" height="1200" srcset="https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy6.jpg 1600w, https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy6-300x225.jpg 300w, https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy6-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy6-624x468.jpg 624w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p><strong>Step 6:</strong><br />
In a deep pan, heat the oil. It should be very hot, at least 680 F. Put in the chicken to deep fry. Be careful that the outer covering on the chicken (the breadcrumbs) doesn&#8217;t brown too quickly. You can do this by simmering the flame on and off. Strain the chicken on paper towels. <img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-1569" src="https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy7.jpg" alt="How to Make The Perfect Fried Chicken Every Time easy step by step picnic party classic breadcrumbs cornflour easy7" width="1600" height="1200" srcset="https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy7.jpg 1600w, https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy7-300x225.jpg 300w, https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy7-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy7-624x468.jpg 624w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p><strong>Step 7:</strong></p>
<p>Enjoy your juicy chicken! <img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-1570" src="https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy8.jpg" alt="How to Make The Perfect Fried Chicken Every Time easy step by step picnic party classic breadcrumbs cornflour easy8" width="640" height="480" srcset="https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy8.jpg 640w, https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy8-300x225.jpg 300w, https://betterhousekeeper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/How-to-Make-The-Perfect-Fried-Chicken-Every-Time-easy-step-by-step-picnic-party-classic-breadcrumbs-cornflour-easy8-624x468.jpg 624w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>

<h2><span style="color: #99cc00;"><strong>Classic Crispy Fried Chicken</strong></span></h2>
<p>A picnic staple, this fried chicken will be the most flavorful you&#8217;ve ever tried! Soaking the chicken in buttermilk beforehand keeps it juicy, and the Tabasco sauce gives it an unexpected kick.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #99cc00;">Ingredients for the buttermilk marinade</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>4 cups buttermilk</li>
<li>1/4 tsp cayenne pepper</li>
<li>2 tsp salt</li>
<li>1 tsp black pepper</li>
<li>2 tsp Tabasco sauce</li>
<li>2 tbsp honey</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span style="color: #99cc00;">Ingredients for the chicken</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>2 small chickens, cut into pieces</li>
<li>2 quarts vegetable oil</li>
<li>4 cups flour</li>
<li>2 tsp chili powder</li>
<li>4 tsp paprika</li>
<li>2 tsp onion powder</li>
<li>2 tsp garlic powder</li>
<li>2 tbsp Old Bay seasoning</li>
<li>2 tsp ground celery seed</li>
<li>2 tsp cayenne pepper</li>
<li>4 tsp salt</li>
<li>1 tsp black pepper</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="color: #99cc00;"><strong>Instructions</strong></span></p>
<ol>
<li>To make the marinade, whisk the buttermilk, cayenne, salt, pepper, Old Bay, Tabasco, and honey in a large bowl.</li>
<li>Place the chicken pieces in the bowl and submerge them in the marinade. Cover and put in the fridge. Allow to marinade for at least 12 hours.</li>
<li>When the 12 hours have passed, take the chicken out of the fridge and let it come up to room temperature, still in the marinade. This will take about 45 minutes.</li>
<li>Preheat oven to 200 F and heat the oil in a deep pot or a deep-fryer over high heat. Oil should be 3 inches deep, and hot enough to start popping.</li>
<li>While the oil is heating up, combine paprika, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, Old Bay, cayenne pepper, celery seed, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Stir to combine. Pour half the mixture in another bowl and set aside. Add the remaining half of the spice mix to flour to the large bowl and mix well.</li>
<li>When the oil is hot, put a piece of chicken into the dredging flour bowl and cover with flour until coated. Do the same with all the chicken pieces until there isn&#8217;t any more space in the bowl.</li>
